Julie K. Silver, MD, a nationally recognized doctor in physical medicine and rehabilitation, is medical director of Spaulding-Framingham Rehabilitation Center in Massachusetts, where she founded and directs RESTORE, an innovative, multidisciplinary oncology rehabilitation program for cancer patients and survivors. RESTORE is one of the only physical rehab programs in the country for cancer survivors that uses a comprehensive team approach in which caregivers from different specialties work together to help patients regain their strength and energy, alleviate pain, and improve their daily function and quality of life. Affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Spaulding Rehabilitation hospital, RESTORE is quickly becoming a national model for other centers wishing to offer continued care to cancer patients.
